A marathon is a journey, not a destination.
The beauty of the marathon distance lies in its mystery. It's not only about completing a 42K distance to the finish line, but also about facing the unpredictability of every step along the way.
Within a marathon, anything can happen unexpectedly. You can dedicate weeks of training, and yet, no one can guarantee your desired result. Therefore, we should respect the distance by preparing for it appropriately.
Marathon preparation is crucial for preparing the body and mind for the physical and mental demands of running those miles. It should begin with a solid base foundation, adequate training time, strength and conditioning sessions, as well as proper nutrition and recovery system. These elements will help build endurance, strength, and stamina, while reducing the risk of injuries and improving overall performance.
Yet, during a marathon, it's not only the body that moves, but also the mind. The power of a positive mindset plays a key role in the journey itself. Throughout the distance, it's you and your thoughts that race together to discover your "why" of what motivates you to run and what keeps you going. |
Understanding how your mind speaks as your body responds. It's the mind that matters over those meaningful miles.
"Mind Over Miles" is a collaborative project between ASICS Indonesia and Coach Andriyanto, designed to demonstrate proper marathon training. Four individuals from diverse backgrounds undertook marathon preparation to enhance their overall performance and complete their journey at the Tokyo Marathon. Through various challenges and difficulties, they illustrated how the mind prevails over meaningful miles.
It's a marathon journey. It's "Mind Over Miles."
